Hi everyone, thought I'd share a little bit about myself. I'm a survivor of skin cancer. About a year & a half ago I was diagnosed with Superficial Basal Cell Carcinoma. Luckily, because it was superficial and because BCC is very slow to spread, it was caught before it became too bad. I was treated with Aldara cream, and when that didn't work, my dermatologist had to cut and burn the cancer out. It was on my left cheek, just under my eye and I have a small scar there now.
I've always been fairly good about applying sunscreen, since I burn very easily, even while wearing it. But, now I'm even more cautious and am very careful to make sure my children are also covered well. I've since found out that BCC and melanoma both run through both sides of my family.
