What's Right In Your World?

What has happened lately that made you feel good or gave you some peace?

We (I should say I) made dds Halloween costume. She was a Rainbow Macaw, complete with a nest, with two baby birds. She was so cute. When she went trick or treating people would ask her what kind of bird she was, and she would say "I'm a Rainbow Macaw and these are my nestlings. My costume is homemade."

She was so proud. She got a lot of positive feedback. It was her first trick or treat at night. We always had gone to the day time one for pre-schoolers before. It was all pretty exciting. She made me dress up at the last minute. I was a Gypsey, she was my parrot ;0) Dad wore a cat mask. People kept giving her extra candy for Dad, which I found amusing. I heard her tell someone yesterday that she got more candy than Daddy.

Oh hottlipps that is so sweet :-)

I had a FANTASTIC parent/teacher conference on Monday. My son, who might be slightly ADHD, is doing better at paying attention & a little more organized in school.

It was supposed to be a 20-minute meeting & it turned out to be more like 40-minutes (she didn't have any appointments immediately after mine). And this was not me doing the talking, it was the teacher :-) They had their first test on Friday & while other kids panicked my son did the very best. He even showed off his little environmentalist side of himself which she adored.

She even complimented me. The speech pathologist came in to tell me his progress and mentioned how it's because of the time I spend at home w/him & his teacher butted & in said, 'she is a great follow through mom - I know I can depend on her at home.'

It is nice to sit and listen to a person who spends nearly as much time with my child, but with 22 other kids at the same time, to also find him as wonderful. Unlike his kindergarten teacher who stunted his growth rather than harvest it.

Two days later & I'm still gloating.

That's really great. It is amazing what a difference a good and sympathetic teacher can make.

Oh goodness, I bet your daughter was just beautiful in that costume!  I'm glad she had a good time.  :)
