I will have weeks where I'm doing really good.  Not perfect by any means, but I feel like I'm really moving forward in my life and doing good things for myself.  Really focused.

Then there are weeks when I can't seem to figure anything out.  I don't know which way to go and what to focus on and doing everything at once is impossible, though I sure try.

How do you get back on track?

LOL, I was noticing that last week.  It was definitely more of an off week for me but after some R&R over the weekend, I feel like I'm back on my game this week.

Things that help me are to give myself a time out (do something just for me), revamp my to-do lists, and sometimes I just have to give myself permission to take a quick break.

Do you find yourself avoiding those necessary recharge periods when you need to take time out for yourself?

I tend to avoid them because if I'm not careful, when I get off track even just to recharge, I have a terrible time getting started again.  An object at rest stays at rest.  An object in motion.... you get the picture. :)

But as you and I both know, if we don't take a moment to recharge, things get out of control.  Burnout occurs and everything comes to a halt.

(sigh)  I'm having a moment this week and last because I'm completely distracted by my ex... who after three years is STILL hammering at me like some sort of charging rhino.  With the added stress, I'm not taking my meds because I don't need an anxiety attack on top of it all.

This too shall pass and I can once again focus on me.

Oh yeah, I totally avoid sitting down and relaxing when I have other stuff to do because I know myself.  If I take 10 minutes to rest, then I won't get back to work.  So, I tend to just jump onto the next project as soon as the first one is complete.

Sorry to hear about your ex.

Hi, I'm new here. Been lurking for a while, but saw your question and had to post.

Anyway, I'm ADD/Bipolar and my symptoms do go in cycles-typically follow my menstrual cycle. A few days leading up to getting my period, I can't seem to get anything done. But as soon as that first day happens, I'm back to "normal".
