I love a product called Cold Calm made by Boiron.  Little tiny tablets that you dissolve in your mouth about every 4 hours.   They don't make me drowsy and they do a great job of alleviating cold symptoms, I can really tell when the 4 hours is up though!   I also think that they have cut down the length of my colds too.

Interesting-I've never heard of it. Do you know what the active ingredient is?

Colds are just plain miserable): I try rest & lots of fluids. Salt water gargling for a sore throat & a couple snorts keep my sinuses clear. I never got as far as the neti pots some folks use. My mom always put a swipe of Rawleigh's medicated ointment under our noses & that still works. I never found a tissue that prevented Rudolph nose & that stinging chapped area under my nose & above my lip. So, I use my chapstick & make it a very wide swoop, catching my lips & the area between my nose. My philtrum.(The philtrum is the midline groove in the upper lip that runs from the top of the lip to the nose.) The word of the day, Karla;) jan

From the website, it looks like a lot of different stuff....

Active Ingredients

Allium cepa 3C HPUS   Relieves sneezing and runny nose
Apis mellifica 6C HPUS   Relieves nasal congestion
Belladonna 6C HPUS*   Relieves colds with a sudden onset
Eupatorium perfoliatum 3C HPUS   Relieves sinus pain
Gelsemium sempervirens 6C HPUS   Relieves headaches associated with colds
Kali bichromicum 6C HPUS   Relieves nasal discharge
Nux vomica 3C HPUS*   Relieves sneezing attacks
Phytolacca decandra 6C HPUS   Relieves sore throat associated with colds
Pulsatilla 6C HPUS   Relieves colds with a loss of taste and smell

This is the same company that makes Oscillicoccinium for the flu and Sabadil for allergies, which works pretty good too.
