Hi, can somebody help me with this. It's driving me nuts!

I constantly have to pee at night, about every 60-90 minutes. This happens even if I don't eat a bunch of carbs. I'm not on any medication for diabetes, but sometimes I take cinnamon capsules and GTF Chromium tablets.  Anyhow, I tried doing that, taking the pills, but it didn't help.  I've had diabetes at least six years years and I have never taken medication for it.  Where does all this water I'm letting out come from anyhow?

Also, is losing all the water overnight, the reason I have lower back aches in the morning? I don't drink much water during the day, and I know I'm losing three-four times the amount I drink, maybe more.

I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Inspite of if we drink our bodies retain water.  Some comes from our food.  I do have a question for you.  How old are you?  I ask because the many trips to the bathroom at night sounds perimenopausal or menopausal.....

When you have to go, do you go 'a lot'?  or does it feel worse than it turns out?  By the way, I am not a medical person!

Hi and welcome to the board. My name is Mary Frances and I am the other cl for this board. I am a type 2 diabetic and a registered nurse. Any advise I may give is not a substitute for seeking medical advise from a health care practitioner of your choice.

I am sorry but this sounds to me like your diabetes isn't under control anymore. When was the last time you had an A1C done and do you know the result? How often do you test your blood sugar? Please rememebr diabetes is a chronic progressive disease and about 6 years usually one of those change years in diabetes.

It could be other things such as a kidney infection and I am going to ask my sister (cl-thebuglady2) to look at your message because that is her speciality. By the way, how long has this been going on?

Please get back to me with an answer to my questions. I may be able to help you more at that time. I do hope that you feel better and that you get sufficent rest.

Welcome louport35

You also need to make more of a habit of drinking water during the day.  Have you tried stopping each pill for awhile to see if they have anything to do with this.  (I think you also need to drink water during the day with those pills.)

Basically, I agree, you need to make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible and have some blood tests.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm almost 42, but this problem with excessive urination was among my first symptoms of diabetes in 2001. Well, I had it then and knew something was wrong.

And yes, it is a lot and mainly at night, which also clued me into diabetes being the cause.
