We've done celeriac french fries, home fries, roasted autumn veggies (sweet potato, celeriac, squashes, carrots, etc) - sometimes we do savory with garlic and onion in the mix, sometimes we put a sprinkle of cinnamon on top instead.

Annual check up including blood work is the end of October. Last week my numbers were wacky with stress and travel (we drove down to NJ to see my mom and be with family while she was having her aortic valve replaced. She's doing wonderfully now). I tried to keep things stable (worked out on the hotel's treadmill and such) but even with all that, the stress drove the numbers up some of the time, not to mention eating at all sorts of odd times after waiting in the hospital waiting room and all like that.

However, yesterday and today have been quite good so it's looking like it's getting back on track and my home scale shows I've lost the pounds I had gained as of the last dr visit 3 months ago.

We traded the truck for a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer and we love it! I got pre-approved for a car loan for the sticker price on the vehicle, walked in and said "I want to walk out of here for this amount, including tax, and all the other 'add ons'" So, they calculated the tax and stuff then gave us that amount as the trade in value on the truck. Then, they asked if it would be okay to get some info and see if they could beat the interest rate we were getting (which was pretty good for a used vehicle). They called the next day and offered .5% less - not a heck of a lot but every dime helps.

Sounds good to me!  I pretty much bought our new car 3 years ago that way!  I KNEW what every option cost.  I KNEW what the deals were paying.  I took my print offs with me and the dealer himself was who we dealt with and he commented that I had done my homework!  lol

As for the back tracking on prices...  when I bought my dd a new flute I let them know how much I would pay and he figured out taxes, etc, and wrote the price according to that.  And I paid exactly the amount.  In this day and age, it doesn't hurt to research and stand firm.  They don't want to lose the sale!

Hello All,

My name is Angela and I am in NM. I was just diagnosed as Type II after I couldn't see clearly on Valentine's day. I am on 95 units Levemir and Novolog with my meals. I have been doing "ok" but need to do better. Just have to find that 25th & 26th  hour in the day sometimes. I have two young DDs that keep me busy when I am home from my job. Luckily, my DH does most of the cooking... unluckily, he is having trouble adapting to the 'new world'. I keep trying though, that is what is important, right??
