Hi, I am MAR, I have posted about my Mom before in this board.

She had Ovarian cancer surgery in August 2007. Surgery went well, then she had chemo once a month for 6 months. And ever since then tests every 4 months (CA 125, CT scan, and ultrasound every other time)

Last time I posted about her CA 125 in March. Her CA 125 was 900 before surgery, 74 ish after surgery and before chemo, and it got down to 14 - 16 ish after 3 months of chemo and each time she was tested. In March it was 19.9. Now in July it was 15 or so. But she had trouble with the insurance to authorized the CAT scan (She lives in South America) so she hasn't have it done yet.

For the past two years specially when it is cold she's had some pain on her hip bone, on one side. Last year her doctor had her have an X Ray what showed she had arthrosis (sp?)

Now due to the fact she hasn't had the CT scan done yet and she had that pain, the doctor ordered along also the ultrasound that was going to be for November, and a Centellography (sp?) She never had that done. The doctor says she doesn't think the pain in the hip has something to do with the cancer, but of course what can I do other than worry?

Thanks for letting me vent a little and for any advice and opinion in advance.

MAR

Best of luck to your mom. I never had OVCA, so I'll let others who have answer specifically, but I'm sure the pain is not her cancer returning. I remember being scared of my cancer returning with every little cough I got. It's not a fun feeling.
