I'm just curious how many of you ate better once you found out you were diagnosed with cancer

What all did you do differently?
Sorry I'm just looking for a little guidance from the survivors is all :)

Thanks
Michele

One thing I started doing differently was to begin taking vitamins on a regular basis. It's always a great idea to up your fruit and vegetable intake and lower fats as much as possible.

Hi Michelle - how are you doing?

I was already making pretty good food choices at the time of my dx - a few years prior my mom was dx w/ breast cancer (2003) then colon cancer (2005) - it was around that time when I really turned in to a bit of a 'health food nut'. I never really at a lot of processed foods / fast foods/ 'heat and eat' instant meals (mostly because I'm pretty cheap and it kills me to spend money on the stuff!). I certainly did have a weakness for sweets, and carbs. with Coke being my favorite sin. But after mom's heath issues I really cleaned up my act. (Mom has been cancer free ever since :)

The changes that I have made is to pay more attention to exercise - while I've never been overweight - I've also never exercised on a regular basis even though I realized the importance.

I've also started to look at stress management - I stared a yoga class this fall and it's wonderful.

Please let us know how things are going for you ,
Hugs, Jo
