Hello Everyone,

Today I found out that my cousin was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer, and she doesn't have health insurance.  Is there anyone out there who can offer advice about what she can do for good medical care?  The cancer is in the early stage, so we're all very prayerful that she will be cured, but we're also worried sick because of her lack of insurance.  Right now she has a doctor who is working with her, but who knows how long or how much he will be able to do for her under the circumstances.  I wish there was something I could do for her, but other than prayer and emotional support, I don't know how to help.  If you have any advice on how I can best support her, or any advice I can pass on to her, please, please let me know.  Please keep her in your prayers.

What kind of doctor does she have working for her right now with no insurance? There are lots of free clinics out there, and maybe that doctor can give her the names of some good ones when he/she can longer treat her? Best of luck.

I would talk to the dr about getting on state insurance. Most offices should have a social worker to help them. I remember a friend not having insurance and the county had a loan program that she went through and that was found via the social worker.

Good luck with your family member.
