Cervical & Gynecological Cancers

Hi all...and any who remember me.
I have spent 2 days at UNC this week. For exams, blood work, PET scan and CT simulation...also got my tatoos for radiation.
My dr called me with the result from my PET. For those who don't know I had a PET in July and it showed cancer in my right pelvic lymphnodes. I had surgery in August to remove, he removed 15 cancerous lymphnodes. Well the PET from wednesday shows that it is still there on the right side and has also spread to my left pelvic lymphnodes.
I begin low dose chemo and external radiation November 2nd for 6-7 weeks. Around the end of 3rd/4th week I will begin internal radiation. I'm scared. This sucks, it really does suck!!!!!!
On a positive note my beautiful daughter celebrated her first birthday last sunday and my son will be turning 9 on tuesday. I am excited :)

Very best of luck to you and please know that you are not alone. You will get well and all of this will be behind you, and you will have a long and lovely life with your beautiful children.  When I was going through my cancer, my children were ages newborn, 4 1/2 & 6. Now I am 12 years cancer free and enjoying my life with my 12 year old, 16 1/2 year old and 18 year old ;o)

Hi Michelle - you are correct. It sucks big time. (no nice way to put it)

If you need to rant or let it all out - please go right ahead. Do you have any in-person support systems to vent to? During my treatment(s) I was at the point where I was ready to smack the next person who told me to "look on the bright side" or to "just think positive thoughts" (nothing against either, and we all have different coping mechanisms. I would consider myself a positive person with a good attitude and was often just looking to get things off my chest. I used to feel that my concern were being minimized and I would usually feel worse after those 'pep talks')

I've had the int'l radiation - if you wanted to email me via my profile I can share my experience (not comfortable posting on a public board).

How is your husband doing? Congratulations on the birthdays of your little ones.
