so i've been sexually active for a little over a year now and i decided that it was time for me to go to the gyno again, i went yesterday to get birth control, a pap and to see if what was going on down there was a yeast infection. Lately i've been noticing that down near my vaginal opening has been itchy and sometimes when i pee it's uncomfortable but nothing has ever been there, it would go away sometimes and then come back and i just figured i cut myself shaving a few times down there, but yesterday before my apt i looked and noticed that it looked a bit like bumps or raises on my vaginal opening so i went to my apt and she diagnosed my problem as being a yeast infection, when i looked today the bumps were a little worse is this genital warts? and if so wouldn't my doctor have noticed it? i'm really scared but some people say that bumps can be caused by yeast infection too? if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
It does sound like it's probably caused by your yeast infection, or maybe by ingrown hairs from shaving. But, you could call your doctor and mention that you've noticed them getting worse and ask her opinion.
Another resource for you would be our Herpes, HPV & Other STDs board, where you might get some input from other members who have experienced similar bumps and infections.
