Vaginal, rectal pain - and a lump?

I have an appointment with my gyno. next week about this, but I thought I'd try and get some input on what others think this might be.

Over the past few months I've had intermittant shooting/ stabbing pains inside of my vagina, and deep in my rectum. The pains are brief, but sometimes have me doubled over - they litterally stop me in my tracks and I can't move.

Over the past week or so, I've experienced a dull ache on what seems like the deep muscular pain on the right side of my vagina. It feels like it's bruised in there.

So yesterday, I thought I'd feel around up there to see if there's anything suspicious, and upon investigation I found what seems to be a hard swelling or large mass/lump in the vaginal wall, on the right side only, sort of behind my cervix.

I was trying to figure out if it was just a contracted muscle that felt different from the other side because of the awkward way I was "squatting" (sorry to be so graphic!) but no matter how I moved, it still felt like a lump. If it is a lump, does anyone know what this could be? Are there lymph nodes next to the vaginal wall? Could this be a fibroid?

It's not a small rough lump. It feels like it's behind the vaginal wall, and about the size of a baby carrot?

I am so freaked out right now. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I can understand why you'd be concerned.  I'm glad you're planning to see your doctor this week, as we cannot diagnose the problem and I'm really unsure as to what could be the cause.  Hopefully your doctor can bring you some relief and insight into what is causing this.
