Does anyone on this board also have anxiety with their migraines?  I have bad anxiety today and also a really bad headache.  I'm not sure if its a migraine, its not throbbing (i had a neurologist tell me a migraine throbs like a pulse or heartbeat in your head) this just hurts, like a constant ache.  My neck muscles on the left side are also tight, i think from my anxiety, that's the side of the headache too.

Hi Iam629. Welcome to the group! Anxiety and migraine could happen at the same time, but I do not think one causes the other. Do you think the pain is causing you anxiety? I hope you can discuss this with your doctor to find the best course of treatment. Do you have other symptoms with the migraine besides the head pain, such as nausea/vomiting, or sensitivity to light and/or sound? Look up the diagnosis criteria for migraine and see if your symptoms fit. A constant ache with no other symptoms does not sound like migraine, but more information would be helpful. That by no means belittles your pain as I know any type of head pain can be disabling. Yes, neck pain can come with migraines and headaches too. Best wishes.

Hi! I lurk around in here too, especially after an attack. I get mild anxiety whenever I get an aura, a disturbance in my vision among other things that comes before a migraine. I get like the because I know what's coming and it's really bad if I'm away from home.

You could be getting bad tension headaches, they can hurt throughout the neck and it's possible that your anxiety brings on a headache or vice versa. Try a cool rag around the neck and maybe a neck massage every once in a while.
