HI Christiane! Inderal is an old standby migraine preventative that many people have success with as well as a low incidence of side effects. The most common one (and the only I got on the medication) is dizziness when standing, caused by drop in blood pressure. Standing up slowly can help with this. It gets a little better the longer you take the medication too, but not by too much. When they list potential side effects, that doesn't give you too much of a picture of the probability you will get them. See if you can find the more detailed information typically more geared towards pharmacists and doctors which will tell you the percentage of patients in the drug trial that got each specific side effect. When I searched I found that for older meds this is tougher to find. Your pharmacist should have this though as it comes with the bottles of medications before they split them up.

Success in the neuro world for migraine is defined as 50% reduction in frequency and/or severity. What kind of goals do you have?

I wish you the best of luck with it and the hormone testing. Please keep us posted!
