Migraines are debilitating, painful headaches that can make light, sound and even touch unbearable for hours or days at a time. Alternative medicine appeals to migraineurs who either aren’t getting enough relief with conventional drugs, want to stop being so reliant on pharmaceuticals, or who simply prefer not to take medicines. Take a look at some of the alternative treatments gaining in popularity.

Thanks Amy!

Anyone tried any of these?

Of the list, I've tried yoga, supplements, and chiro. I think yoga helps but it is hard to get into the mood when I'm already in pain. Also, I'd probably do better in a more slow paced class as the teachers tend to push you, and I don't like to have to explain too much to them beforehand about my health because then they usually say I shouldn't do a lot of the poses. Hoping to get back into it soon when money picks up again as I have expensive tastes in classes ($20 each). No luck with supplements, but I know they help a lot of people with traditional migraines (not me), especially combining several of them. Chiro made me worse. Massage was the best non-traditional treatment I tried.

Haven't tried acupuncture or biofeedback.

I used to have migraines and headaches daily.  But I found a nice supplement from Melaleuca which has done wonders for me.  Then last year I started visiting my local chiropractor.   Between the two, I rarely have headaches at all.  I highly recommend trying it!

Kim,

That is so great you have found relief. Which supplement? Everyone is different, but when someone can find relief I love hearing about it. Best wishes.
