Hello everyone, I haven't been here for a long time. I have changed my username from rochelle_1979 to f.l.ying4life. I haven't been here for ages. I suffer from high levels in my liver. My doctor keep an eye on the levels regulary. They don't seem to be going down at all but going up. Which is quite scary.

Can't wait to chat to others with liver diseases and other conditions comes from the liver.

Rochelle

Hi Rochelle,

Welcome back.  May I ask what levels are high?  I have different levels and the one I have to watch is with my Hep C.  I keep a close watch on my viral load.  I am under 200,000 right now and the doctors say not to worry unless it reaches 1,000,000.  I did have a liver transplant back in 2006 because it was completely destroyed by this virus.  I learned a very valuable lesson.  Medical science is wonderful and many strides have been made.  I also know that the final decision is not theirs and my attitude holds a lot to do with my recovery.  I do what the doctors tell me and I keep a close watch on the medical proceedures they ask me to do.  If there is any doubt in my mind, I get a second opinion.  I even go for a third if I am not comfortable.  I also go to the great Physician for the final decision.  This keeps me doing my part and feeling ok with any outcome.  My biggest failing is to keeping my weight down.  This is hard.  With the new liver and the meds I am on, it is next to impossible.  I never had this problem before and I need help to get thru it.  I am doing some different weight watchers stuff and walking a lot.  Sheesh....its hard.  But, just in case I need another transplant, my chances will be better if I have my weight down.  I find that I do better with the support of others that do relate to what I am going thru.  How about you?  What symptoms do you have and what do the doctors tell you to do?  My only real symptom is getting tired very easily.  Thanks for posting and I love the new name....kewl beans!!

Good for you.  It is very important that we stay completely informed on our medical conditions.  We are the ones that has to make decisions and we need to know what we are making decisions on.  I actually did a quick crash course on transplants and if I truly wanted to go thru that.  I still didnt have enough information when I had mine and things happened that scared me because I did not know they were normal aspects of transplants.  I am still glad for the information I had gotten beforehand or I really would have been completely scared out of my mind.  I was curious to see if your levels are viral load levels that goes with hep.  If it is, then you can track those levels along with your doctor and find out when and if you are getting into transplant levels.  Just a good idea to keep up on what is happening.  It is your body and your choices, after all.

Make that appointment and let us know what happens.  Take care of you.  God bless.....

I have to keep an eye on my liver enzymes.  My enzyme levels are good now, in the 40's. They were as high as 600. Very important to learn all you can about your condition, what it might be.  I have auto immune hepatitis.
