Thyroid Conditions

I was wondering if any of you knew if smoking cessation affected your thyroid.  I have an underactive thyroid and have to take synthroid every day.  But I stopped smoking 16 months ago (a miracle in itself), and now I am wondering if it can affect your thyroid or not, you know of how much it produces or does not produce.

Welcome to our board.

That is a good question and one that I don't have an answer for at this point.  I'd have to do some research on that.  However, let me congratulate you on stopping smoking.  That is a big accomplishment and I'm sure you're seeing the health benefits in lots of areas already.
