What do you do that works??  For me staying away from my trigger foods is a good place to start.  Staying away from the high fat foods.  Yeh, that means those lays potato chips that I love to eat or the smothered hashbrowns that I use to love...can't do them any more.  Finding ways to release my stress is also a good one.  When I am stressed, my stomach goes nuts.  I can be fine and the next minute I am running to the bathroom.  Anyone else get this??  Looking for some good ideas from all of you.

Hi,

I new here and I will mostly be posting on the Fibromyalgia and the Workers Comp/SSD board but I do have IBS. You know as long as I stay away from the diary products I don't have to many problems with my IBS but every once in a while I do eat something that sends me running for the hills, well at least running to the bathroom LOL.

When my IBS does flare up my intestines get inflammed and I usually end up in the hospital. So I really try to watch what I eat. I am in so much pain with my flare ups and my intestines are so tied up in knots it hurts like you know what, to urinate.

Carla

HI Carla,

Welcome to the board!  I do have a ? for you, if your IBS acts up and your intestines become inflammed, are you sure you have IBS and not IBD??  IBS usually doesn't cause inflammation in the intestines and making you end up in the hospital.  Fibromyalgia is not fun to deal with, I have a friend who has it.  I really feel for all of you.  I sometimes wonder if I have it too, as I can ache head to toe on some days.  I also have crohn's disease.

I see you are from Ohio!  I grew up in Ohio and now live in Iowa...my parents still live in Ohio.  Where abouts do you live??  I was born in Dayton and when I was in 6th grade we moved to Troy.  It really is a small world.  Hope you are feeling well and doing ok.

Have a pain free weekend!!
