Has anyone had any positive results with treatments of botox for excessive sweating around the face & head. These are not hot flashes, since I am over 70 years old. I am on an antidepressant medication, & am overweight, but the sweating is so miserable. I get so hot & sweaty & have to wear a sweat band or bandana anywhere I go. There are certain places you can't go wearing a sweat band, if it is a dressy affair. My doctor says to get out & do things to help the depression, but this is impossible except for really "fun things" like grocery shopping. Ugg! I come home soaking with sweat even after a short time. I know there are some treatments & even surgery for this, but none of them seem practical. I have heard of botox injections for this, but haven't heard from anyone that has actually had the treatments. Would appreciate any suggestions.
We don't have a specific board that deals with botox but maybe you could copy/paste your post on these boards and see if anyone has ideas for you. I don't know if your condition is considered as hyperhidrosis but you could google that and get further information on that type of excessive sweating.
