Has anyone did the nordic walking using 2 walking poles?  I have heard it burns more calories than regular walking.  Does it help with balance while walking.  Any info would be of help.

Hello and nice to meet you.

I have seen people in my neighborhood walking with them. As for burning more calories , I have no idea

really. Maybe someone here knows more about it.

Hope to see you more often.

It is always good to find out what workouts  that you like.

Are you planning to use the poles? I think it would help with the balancing.

There will be others here who can help you.

Had entertained the idea since a group of 50-something year old ladies blew past us inside the Haleakala crater.  They were using poles & walking the very rugged vulcanic terrain like they were inside the mall while we 30-somethings struggled.  Now I don't know if those things really made any difference but if they could help me to hike more like those ladies, I would totally use them.

I would like to try roller blading with them.  I think they might help me stay upright, or as DH would put it, add another thing to injure myself with, LOL.
