This morning I had nerve conduction tests to see why I am still having problems after my cubital tunnel syndrome surgery back in June. I have had many surgeries, but this recovery period was absolutely the worst. I was so helpless with my right hand in a cast for three weeks and pretty useless for a while thereafter. When you are 70 and live alone (except for Misty) in a building where you don't have any close friends and no family in the area, that helplessness is frightening and depressing.
I've gone through two months of intensive physical therapy and am continuing the therapeutic exercises on my own at home. The surgery results are reasonably satisfactory, but this whole new problem has cropped up. After he did the tests, he said that the root of the whole problem is in my neck and that contributed to the problems in my hand!!! Grrrr.
Now I will have to get an X-ray and an MRI. No way am I going to let anyone near me with a knife again!
