Don’t; let this happen to you
Just the other day I was boiling some thing on the stove. The pot boiled over and extinguished he flame. I grabbed the pot by the handle and moved it to a cool off burner. I then turned the burner off but in my haste I didn’t turn it completely off I went on with the cleanup and the burner still slightly on. It was at least 20 mi, before I realized the burner was on. And releasing gas.
Shortly later <My dw comes homer from work and as soon as she enters she asks”whats that smell?’ I answered I don’t smell anything and I really did not.” I smell gas she says” and began opening windows and doors. It’s almost ironic that my first job was as a gas utility field service rep. Repairing gas leaks in residences were one of my major duties. Ability to detect gas by smell was an absolute requirement. Use caution when cooking with a gas range and learn from my mistake. Guess My cooking days are shortened.
