I'm going to try and quit smoking again...right now I'm going to read some of the posts in this room....which I should have done first.

But, I was on Chantix about 1 month or 2 months ago....and I was on it for the wrong reasons...I wanted to stop for my boyfriend.  Now, I think I HAVE to stop because it is becoming a health reason...25 years...or more smoking, hacking up a storm, tired all the time, etc.

I'm not doing good.  I am on day 2 of the chantix again...but my job is stressing me out so much that I am so burnt out....and depressed that I smoke so much and can't stop.

I think I have more of a desire to quit than last time...but life is getting in my way.

I don't know how to live without smoking...I am signed up to the American Lung Association program...and I have TOTALLY forgot to go on that board and complete any of the modules.

I'm giving up on everything lately.....:(

You didn't answer me...have you quit and how long?  It helps to know it can be done!

Hi Missy!  Your profile shows we have more than a smoking addiction in common ;)  I can tell you from experience that you can be just as proud of your sMobriety - and I found it just as rewarding & lifechanging !

I have chosen not to drink for 14 Years 7 Months 1 Week 3 Days 14 Hours 16 Minutes 1 Second. Beers not consumed: 106771. Money saved: $53,385.94.

I have chosen not to smoke for 10 Years 9 Months 2 Weeks 7 Hours 17 Minutes 29 Seconds. Cigarettes not smoked: 118209. Money saved: $14,776.14.

I quit smoking using the Nicoderm CQ patch, wellbutrin, and the same 12 Steps that had worked 4 years earlier,  ODAT !

You can check out my story here...     My Story

Good luck & Keep Coming Back!

Unbelievable experience, strength and hope.  YOu didn't go too much into the pain of stopping smoking....but, I being dual addicted...alcohol/nicotine....respect the fact the YOU QUIT...and it brings me hope that I can too.

The problem is I KNOW I HAVE TO BE READY.  I'm scared of the cough I have...My friends around me have cancer of some form or another...and I think my time for being spared may be running out.

I'm on Day 3 of the Chantix...I'm going to look back at a post I wrote on Day 3 last time and see how I'm doing.  Thank you for sharing your story with me.

Congratulations on BEATING the demons.  I know its ODAT..but your winning!
