1. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?

We didn't celebrate Halloween when I was a kid. Like many strict Southern Baptist families, mine believed Halloween was "The Devil's Holiday" so we did not celebrate in any way. I wish we had. I love the innocent part of the holiday -- trick or treating, costumes, etc.

2. What is your all-time favorite Halloween candy?

I like to eat almost all candies, but for Halloween, I particularly love Candy Corn. I actually don't eat much of it, but I think they are so cute and I have some cute seasonal things (hand towels, etc) with candy corn on them.

3. If you give out candy on Halloween, do you overbuy? How much do you keep for yourself?

I've never been able to hand out candy before because I've always lived in communities without kids (usually gated condo communities). I'm REALLY looking forward to doing it this year. My girlfriend lives in a culdesac in a classic suburban neighborhood chock full of kids. Their neighborhood goes crazy for Halloween, so it should be a lot of fun. We've bought a bunch of candy. Probably 8-10 big bags and we're pretty sure that's not enough and we're either going to have to buy more or risk running out halfway through the night.

4. What's the most clever Halloween costume you have ever seen or heard about?

I can't wait to see the responses to this question. I can't think of any good ones off the top of my head. Although I almost bought my dog a mailman costume this year. I thought the irony of that costume was pretty cute! Oh and my neighbor dressed as a fisherwoman and dressed her dog as a lobster. That was pretty cute!

5. Have you ever been to a corn maze?

I haven't, and I don't plan to. For some reason, that freaks me out. I'm not generally claustrophobic, but I don't like feeling trapped/lost. I love pumpkin patches, apple picking, hay rides, bonfires, and all the other stuff that goes with corn mazes though!

I hope you have a wonderful time handing out candy. It's one of my favorite things to do too. :)

1. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid? I didn't go trick-or-treating a lot because we didn't live in a neighborhood when I was younger. I think I remember dressing as a ballerina one of the few times I went.

2. What is your all-time favorite Halloween candy? Reese's peanut butter cups

3. If you give out candy on Halloween, do you overbuy? Usually How much do you keep for yourself? Whatever's left over. This year we bought a big bag and a little bag. I have a feeling the little one will be untouched at the end of the night.

4. What's the most clever Halloween costume you have ever seen or heard about? It has to be Caly's costume this year. We are dressing our miniature dachshund in a hot dog costume and Caly is going as a bottle of mustard. :-) Another one I liked was a chick magnet--a magnet costume with little baby chick stuffed animals stuck to it.

5. Have you ever been to a corn maze? No, and I don't think I want to. I am very claustrophobic.

1. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?  My faovrite costume as a kid was a 50's girl.  My mom liked it more than me.

2. What is your all-time favorite Halloween candy? I, too, like Reeses PB Cups...as a matter of fact...I told all my students before I dismissed them that they were my favorite....that's good for at least 20.

3. If you give out candy on Halloween, do you overbuy? How much do you keep for yourself? I always run out of candy...we live in suburbia and buy about $50 worth of candy...it's gone within 2 hours.  Our neighbors make their garage and driveway into a mini haunted house complete with real casket.  It draws lots of people.

4. What's the most clever Halloween costume you have ever seen or heard about? I have to say its a costume that I did with 3 other teachers I work with on a team.  We came as a Happy Meal.  I was the giant drink.  My fellow teachers were a cheeseburger, fries, and a toy complete with plastic package, warning, and age level. :D

5. Have you ever been to a corn maze?  Yes...but even better than that was a maze I went to on a fruitfarm in Bakersfield CA.  It was throught he orchards and hay bales.  It was a good 1/2 mile through.  Scary but fun.
