Hey there, I'm new to this board, but everyone seems so friendly. What brought me to Ivillage was the foster parent message board, which is wonderful. I was looking around and found this one too.

Im living in NY and my partner and I have been together for about 5 years, this february it will be 3 "official" years (thats a whole different story!) Anyways we just bought a house together =) We closed on friday. We're really excited and are so ready to start the next chapter of our lives together! In the next year, we hope to start foster care and I have been looking for other couples who have been involved in that process as well, just because we have no idea what to expect.

I look forward to getting to know everyone's stories!

Welcome to the board! There is a pretty great group of ladies here, so jump right in. Congratulations on buying your house, and I think it's great that you and your partner and planning to become foster parents. I've always thought that it's something I might want to do someday. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your journey!
