discussion title: Introduction
Hi, I am Deb. I am the cl at Lung Conditions. I also have COPD. I was practically born with asthma, allergies, and pneumonia, spent most of my first 6 years in the hospital. I outgrew the asthma; for a while. I smoked as a young person, but when the doctor told me to "stop smoking, or stop breathing"...........Well, you get the picture. I quit, cold turkey. It was one of the hardest things in the world for me to do. But, I did it. Unfortunately, as with most allergy sufferers, my asthma came back. And it came back with a vengeance. I have had allergy shots for everything. I have taken just about every allergy tablet on the market, and I still have problems. Earlier this year, I "graduated" to having to order a nebulizer and have to carry it with me everywhere I go. Some days are good, and some are bad. I thank God every time I wake up and I am still breathing. I am not telling anyone this to make anyone sad, or feel sorry for me. I am a tough old bird. I will go when it is my time to go. But, if you need some one to talk to, that understands some of what you are going through, then, why not stop on over to the Lung Conditions board. I don’t have first hand knowledge of lung cancer and the havoc it can probably wreak in people’s lives. One thing you will find out about me though, is that I love to learn. We can either all feel miserable together, or you can feel miserable, and I can help you through it. Or maybe it will be my day to feel miserable, and you can lift me up, what do you think, want to come visit? Follow the link in the siggy line!! Hope to see you soon!! Deb, cl-sonoma562
