Hi,

I'm new here and am wondering if anyone has ever gone through these procedures.  I am scheduled to undergo them next wednesday in an out-patient setting.  I'm a little bit nervous but was told they both are pretty quick procedures.

The reason why I am getting them done is because I've been experiencing very heavy bleeding non-stop and clotting most of the time and am in full-blown menopause.

Any input about this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi there,

I had the Novasure ablation done as well as a few other hysteroscopic procedures.  The ablation was done back in 12/04, and along with it I underwent the Essure procedure so as not to risk becoming pregnant again afterwards.
I had fibroids and polyps removed 2-3 times via hysteroscopy with D&C.

Yes, the hysteroscopic procedures are outpatient.  I can empathize with your anxiety -- I myself am a very anxious person!  However, I assure you, once you realize that it's all over, you'll realize that it wasn't as bad as you thought it would be!
After the ablation, you will feel cramping, and you will bleed/spot, of course.  However, by the next day, the cramping may end up being pretty much non-existent.  It will take a few days, at least, for the bleeding/spotting to taper down.

Good luck to you...
Vida

Glad I was able to help.
I should have mentioned, can't believe that I didn't do so -- I'm undergoing a hysteroscopy on 11/16!  We can compare notes.  ;)
