I found an interesting Web site about yoga for people who are hurting.

http://www.extensionyoga.com/

I know that many types of exercise are really hard when joints are hurting -- that was one of my biggest problems before my two hip surgeries, especially as things got worse and worse. I did get some relief from some simple yoga moves, though, and I think even just learning how to do the yoga breathing helped me with the pain both before and after surgery. I also found out that anything that I could do was worth a try -- if my hips hurt too much to walk, at least I could do some arm exercises, etc., and I think that really helped me when I had to get around on crutches and so forth.

Also I think there is a lot of good information about our bodies and how they work. So check it out.

Thank you, Pwid! I will definitely check it out and start doing some yoga. Ken used to take yoga at his gym one night per week, and he always came home VERY relaxed and ready to fall asleep - he loved it, but then the yoga instructor moved away. And my mom used to do yoga about 25-30 years ago. It can definitely be helpful to people w/ joint issues and pain, plus it doesn't hurt us if done correctly.

Hugs,
D
