Does anyone else experience a lot of pain right before the weather changes? I always go through several days with severe pain just before it finally hits. I was just wondering if this is usual or am I the only one who goes through this torture:-( Myrna

Yes, my dh who has RA and I definitely feel worse when it is
really cold. We are better where we have less weather changes too.
We like the warmth of Ariz. in the winter. I'm hoping for a
mild winter here in the NW. Many say the same about change.

I have heard that the weather in AZ is better for arthritis. My husband just had a job offer there, and I was ready to pack and move. But he wouldn't take it. Too far away from my little neice almost 7 yrs that we raised and he thinks is his. Not really, just in his heart. We raised her the first 3 3/4 of her life and it was hard to let her go back to live with her Mom. He is just so worried something will happen to her and he won't be here. Plus this is the first time in his life he wasn't moving. I was born and raised here. So truthfully it would be hard to leave all my relatives. But when I am hurting so bad like I did this morning, I think I am ready to go anywhere or do anything to just make the pain go away. I feel a little bit better tonight. But couldn't even stand to walk or to sit here and type. I didn't know if others felt this bad or not.

Are you new on the board? I was off the board for a time, just posting once a week or so. But hardly ever felt good enough to sit here and type. I hope you are feeling okay today. We had rain come in this morning, but now that the front has moved out, I am starting to feel a little better.

Hey, Myrna - it's me!  I'm back, but just for tonight.  I think I am going to have to give up being a cl while I finish recovering from the broken bones and the surgery - I have so much to catch up with at work and at home that I'm afraid I won't be able to spend the time necessary to be a cl.

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I do have increases in pain before weather changes - particularly when low-pressure systems move in.  My twin does, too.

I miss being on the boards - even if I have to stop being a cl, I'll still get here as much as I can, and we can email, also.

Hugs,

Debbie

Yes I find the pain awful, especially with rain. I remember thinking how can people actually say they think they know when it is going to rain?????

To introduce myself, my name is Shannon, I'm 30 years old and i've been dealing with osteoarthritis for ten years now. Osteoarthritis set into my ankle after I had a very serious break. I had a plate put into my leg and screws and pins put into my ankle. The doctor told me that within a year I would most likely have osteoarthritis.

I left his office thinking "ya right, I'm too young for that" sure enough within the year I was back at his office in awful pain. It took me ten years to go for the final (hopefully) surgery just last month at the start of November and get my ankle fused. I'm still in a cast from it and hoping it is healing nicely. I go back to him on December 18th. It would be so nice to get this thing off. I have a daughter that just turned five last weekend, and she has been a huge help to me, and a lot of work all at the same time!

Hope that the weather is good to you today!:)
