Well 4 members of my family have had the stomach flu this week. My 10 yr old (Oct 25) was so sick we had to cancel her birthday party.

I woke up Tuesday morning sick....dd(11) and ds (8) were sick all night. I didnt have the vomiting kind of flu. Mine was pain....pain in my chest and across my shoulders, then down my arm and into my jaw. It was terrible.

Nothing I did made that pain go away. I have never had pain like that.

Of course I had a meeting with the social worker (about my grand daughter that is living with us temporarily) that morning and I was determined to do the meeting sick or not after waiting that long. So I did. Went right to bed after and suffered the rest of the day. I am feeling ok now, still not 100% but much better. Saw my chiropractor yesterday and she said my symptoms sounded nothing like the flu that they sounded like a heart issue. She made me promise that if it happened again i would go to the hospital. I told dh that and he said he thought that too and if it had gone on longer he was going to take me to the hospital. Of course I am not sure what he thinks longer is because this went on for many hours. Anyway, hopefully if my heart had stopped he wouldnt wait too long to at least thump me on the chest...LOL

The meeting went ok...got some questions answered and let him know what I thought about what was going on. We got a few things sorted out and arranged visits for dd  to see dgd. We have to supervise them though...not sure what she is going to think of that. Oh well.

Got some bad news this evening...Aviane (10 yr old)was feeling better for most of this week but today started feeling worse. By late afternoon she was getting really lathargic, had a really bad headache and sore throat and fever and cough. You guessed it all the symptoms of H1N1 .....so I called health link and asked them about it and they said to take her to emergent care right away. So I did and she has it. She is so sick ...poor thing. It was awful how fast she got sick...anyway they put her on tamiflu meds and gave her meds for her headache and sent us home. She is feelign a bit better tonight so I am taking that as a good sign. She is sleeping with me tonight because I saw how fast she got sick before and I have heard that in every case where the person died about how fast it hit them. It makes me very nervous and I doubt I will sleep very much tonight.
So far her lungs are ok (not great But OK) and we have to be more concerned about her because of her asthma. This scares me and I don't scare easy.

Oh boy I just read this over and no wonder I am so tired and stressed...it has been a hell of a week.

Please keep Aviane is your thoughts and prayers. I will keep you updated.

Thanks

Deb

Prayers and positive thoughts go out to you and yours! How I wish I could be there to help you! I haven't really been frightened of H1N1 until yesterday. I read that thousands of people have died here in the USA and since it's been declared an actual pandemic, I have been a little uneasy. So far, so good for us. (Fingers crossed!) Anyway, as I read about your symptoms, I immediately thought of a heart issue. I have heart disease, so I know all about that. You MUST take care of yourself and find out asap what's going on! Big, gentle hugs, ((((Deb)))) and for ((((Aviane)))), too!

Gosh, you have your hands full.  Sorry she's got that stupid flu, it seems to be spreading everywhere now and the poor kids get it so much worse, it seems.  Hope she's better soon and hope the rest of you don't get it.  And I agree about getting this pain you have had checked out, it really does seem to match a possible heart problem.  There are other things I think that match it, too, but I wouldn't delay until it happens like that again, it could play hide and seek.

But absolutely, it's no wonder you are feeling so tired, all of this sounds really stressful!!!
