Hello, I'm not sure if I have ever posted on this board, but I need help. For about a half of a year(and possibly earlier)ago up until now, there is this peeper who slowly cracks open their blinds out their window to look at me and only me. I dress frumpy on purpose because I don't know what the peeper is thinking. Here's when I go outside: To take the garbage out, to take my son to the bus stop, to wait for him to get off the bus, to check the mail sometimes, and to go somewhere with my son's father(we all live together)and that's about it, I don't go outside for anything else. This peeper lives at the building next to ours and it could be at 8am to 8pm when I might check the mail and to take out the garbage and they still peep out their window. They don't look at everyone else who comes in and out of our building.

I'm afraid that this person will one day come out of hiding and dare to come near me, or that they will open their blind and they will stick out a rifle and shoot me. I really don't have much of a follow your instinct in danger type of feeling, just a watch your back just in case type of feeling, if that makes any sense. Anyway, I think that this person does not eat, sleep or go to the bathroom, as if they are ready to peep through that blind. I don't see things that aren't there, never had a family history that would out the behavior as paranoid schizophrenia for example, only bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety. I take Alprazolam 1.5mg whenever I feel anxious. I asked for advice on another message board, but the person that replied stated not to be offensive but her grandmother had dementia and was paranoid that someone was watching her before she developed Alzheimer's. So I really don't know how to handle the situation, maybe asking a neighbor when I see them in their driveway to find out if this person is strange to them. But I rather not do that because the peeper could come out of apartment and get me. Has anyone been stalked and have had severe anxiety because of it?

Hello! I am very sorry to hear about the anxiety caused by the peeper/stalker): It would only be natural IMHO, to be anxious. There are laws against such behavior. We are not professionals, nor can we give professional advice. I will say that if I were in your shoes, I would contact the authorities. They will see that you are believed & protected. In that way, you can live with the freedom you deserve. That should reduce the anxiety you currently feel. GL & GBU! (((hugs))) jan
