I took Zoloft 100mg for 5 months in 2005 and lost weight a good 15 lb. I hear alot of different accounts about weight loss/gain while on Zoloft, and while everybody is different, alot of it is what you eat. And excercise.
I used to eat fast food but I started lifting weights and situps/pushups during ALL my freetime while on Zoloft. I ate only salads. I gained alot of mass but also dropped alot of fat.
I got back on the zoloft 2 months ago and I work out more than I did in 2005 because of energy increase. I am not depressed anymore, and Zoloft has truly worked for me 2 times now. I was massivly depressed for the better part of 10 years, you wouldn't meet someone lazier than me. When I am on Zoloft, it is the opposite of depression. If you work out alot and eat very light foods when on Zoloft, you can drop alot of weight. If you gain, it is because you eat poor foods or dont excercise ENOUGH.
I would suggest Zoloft to anyone with mild/severe depression, and it is a great way to get yourself started on a healthy lifestyle. I now have the will to get in shape and take pride in my appearance. You HAVE TO work with the Zoloft, don't expect the Zoloft to physically raise you off the couch and remove the grease-burger from your stomach. It is important to have the will within to jump out of bed, and force yourself to do what's right. If you continue to do the things you did when you were depressed, the effects will be minimal.
Eat light, keep active, use weights, and just be happy you have the chance to dig yourself out of the deep hole your in (believe me I know how bad it can get, IT'S 110% ALL ABOUT REVERSING THE WAY YOU THINK. The power of suggestion, mixed with the right chemicals to steer your brain in the right direction, and you can get through anything.)
