OKay, I'm on month 2 of coming off the Cymbalta. I'm down to 30mg every other day as my neurologist prescribed. I've had the discontinuation/withdrawal headaches, and the brain zaps, even the tingling in the fingers and/or feet. I'm getting used to it, even though its not fun.

Although since I've started this latest tapering down session (started last fri) I have noticed somthing else. On days when I seem to be heading for a real "zappy" day I have had something happen unexpectedly at night. I wake in the middle of the night freezing and unable to get warm. For example last night (tues night) I came to shivering almost uncontrollably and grabbed my sweater to put over my pj's (long pants, tee shirt). Also have a thermal blanket running. I'm in the Chicago area. Had the blanket cranked up to almost the highest setting, all huddled up and still couldn't get warm. My shivering made it almost impossible to sleep.

I'm wondering if this is another discontinuation side effect I wasn't aware of. Anyone know of this?

I haven't heard of that as a symptom Alisa, have you tried contacting your doctor about it?  When it happens do you notice if you're running a fever at all?

Hi Amy,

I haven't tried calling my dr about it yet. The couple times it happened I thought it was just a fluke with dropping temperatures and all. (my bedroom can get cool since I have a north and west facing outer walls.) I'm thinking of calling him in the next few days especially since it has happened 3 times now.

I have not noticed a fever, but I didn't go get a themometer either.(didn't want to leave the covers honestly). I have a low body temp to begin with, so maybe its dropping too low? I don't know, but I think if it happens again, I'll look for one.

Do you live in my house & in my body?  LOL  I know the chills when you have those north & west outer walls (and a poorly insulated house doesn't help) and like you, my temp is typically lower than "normal" as well.

Can you keep a thermometer in your nightstand so that next time it happens (hopefully it won't happen again), you can easily find out if you're running a fever?

LOL, I would have asked you the same thing. Good to know I'm not the only one out there suffering my woes. I hope you're able to keep snug in the cold fronts coming up.

I can try and locate a thermator to have at my beside. I had to turn my personal one over for household use because all the others mysteriously disappeared. It's a good suggestion. Thanks!
