I have been on wellburtin generic for 3 weeks and am haing a hard time with the anxiety..I take xanax for panic attackes but have not had one for years..but this med is making me very anxious and feel panicky..I am wondering if it is just the generic that does this or the brand also..thanks
I actually prefer the generic. My doctor gave me a coupon for Wellbutrin, and it gave me dizzy spells. I switched back to the generic buproprin and the dizzy spells immediately subsided.
The drug did make me feel anxious in the beginning, but that also subsided over time.
Hi, Beverly! How are you feeling? Still anxious? Sometimes new meds will increase anxiety the first 7 to 10 days. It does seem that welbutrin causes anxiety in *some* anxious individuals. It is well reported on the Anxiety board that this was the reason many quit the med & moved on to something else. However, your dr knows you & your health history best. As for generic vs brand name, some ppl have reported the generic being less effective. I hope it's some consolation for you to know that *many* folks say they couldn't tell a difference.
