I find yoga and stretching and any exercise helps a lot with my depression. I also really like having a calming smell with my favorite candles.

I also use biofeedback when I am exceptionally stressed.   I have a couple of tapes that focus on progressive relaxation, by the time the tapes are done I am out like a light.

I meditate daily & practice a little yoga. I walk 3 times a day for fitness, but as a tension tamer, too. I learned the belly breathing & added it to a *centering sequence* taught by a therapist years ago. It involves repeating positive affirmations & imagery. Aromatherapy has long been in my bag of tricks. I have used prayer & scriptures in times of panic. I learned a progressive relaxation technique where you isolate an area of your body, then tense & relax the muscles. It works best when I have the shaky feeling inside which I call my *inner motor;)* Nowadays, I use relaxation cd's & practice mindfulness. When the intense anxiety/worry strikes. I will try just about any darn thing if it will help. Did you notice? LOL jan
