discussion title: New to temping, have a question
Hey ladies, I've tried temping in the past, but with young children it just wasn't possible (waking different times, etc). We're ttc now and figured I"d give it a try....I thought my chart looked ok, a lot better than previous times, but I'm confused... From what I know, my chart looks good, however I ovulated over 14 days ago and still no period. Now, from my knowledge you will have a cycle 14dpo....but I haven't. Not pregnant, at least the PG test a few days ago said no...so I'm wondering, am I missing something? My temps don't show that I may have ovulated later, so I'm really confused. My cycles are regulating due to Vitex. My last cycle was 41 days so from my personal experience w/Vitex my cycle length should be less than 41...just concerned as to why my temps are still high and no sign of period ?!?! Here's my chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/233e97 Any ideas? Thanks in advance.... Pamela

So good to see you! Hmmm, well, it does look like you Oed and your temps keep going up, that is a good sign. Although, unfortunately, those temps that you missed could be a issue. One day 10dpo you had a low temp? It is not registering. Could be that during the missed temps is when you actually Oed. Are you taking your temp at the same time every morning without getting up and moving? Also, the thing with these computer programs for temping is that they are programed with "normal" women in mind. We tend to get lots of fluctuations. Since you said your cycles are normally 41 days long, if you O during these cycles it wouldn't be until day 27, which a actually right around those missing temps. I would hang in there, keep temping and see what happens. Remind me here and I will keep an eye on it as well. Hang in there and ++++++++thoughts! Laura

Laura !! My buddy, how ya been? I've missed talking with you.... Things are so busy here! Yea, I am taking it the same time every single day, without moving, etc. I've been really good at it, setting the alarm and all. The few temps I missed were when one of my munchkins was sick, so I was up on & off throughout the night and morning...No point in tracking that once since I was sleep deprived! My cycles aren't quite regular. I've been taking Vitex for 5 months now. My first cycle was 80 days, then 41 and I'm currently on cd 32 of this one. I've taken vitex many times and once it starts working, my cycles become regular (28-31 days) quite fast. What I meant is that since my LAST cycle was 41 days, my next should be even less because the Vitex helps so much. That's where I'm confused....if it should be less than 41 days, it should star ANYTIME now. Hope that makes sense !?!?! Everything I read says if you haven't had a period, or a positive PG test before 18dpo you should see your doc, as something may be up. You know how I LOVE doctors and I'd like to avoid the worthless trip...I just have no idea what's going on. Guess I'll wait a few days, and take a PG test in the am. Thanks for looking ! Hi to Tobin !!!!

Yeah, wait a few days and test again. You are right, that first pee in the morning is best. It is hard to say what is truly going on. Every time you take Vitex, it can be different. ++++thoughts! Keep me updated!
I will tell Tobin hi, you give all your kiddos a hug for me! Hope to see you around! Laura

HOLY CRAP - Sorry Laura but that's all I know to say right now..... Got a positive PG test this morning. Its light, but there. Confusion solved... I'm completely shocked and still shaking. We weren't fully trying this month because I wanted to have a few normal cycles before we tried. God had other plans.... its a good thing, just a surprise and completely unplanned - which is AMAZING! What woman with PCOS can say they have an unplanned pregnancy? Crazy.... Thanks for your input, have a great weekend!
