Yeah, I like your doc too! It sounds like she really cares. And yes, those docs can't know everything. It is just very frustrating that they don't know about something that affects up to 25% of women! :-)

Glad you are on the Met. Curious, how long have you been on it and what dose are you on? Diet can really affect how well the Met. works. If you are not eating right it can go against what the Met is trying to do.

Take care and talk with ya soon! Laura

Hey, I have been on the met since May, and I am taking 1500mg.  The doctor said to keep taking the 1500 for a while and see what happens before we up to 2000mg.  I feel like I eat pretty good, I dont pig out on junk food all the time, but maybe I am not.  I have decided to go ahead with the lap. surgery.  I have been hurting more and more.  So I talked to her on the phone this morning, and she said that it would help.  She is not sure until she gets in there what she is going to find exactly and whether she will be able to cut some of the cysts out or just pop as many of the larger ones as she can to relieve the pressure.  I will keep you updated on my progress!!  Thanks for all the advice.

That sounds like a fine plan. You have been on the Met for a while, but waiting a little longer is not a bad idea. What I would do is adjust your diet some more. Up the protein and fat. Make sure you are eating something about every three hours. Below are some links that will help. Let me know if you have any questions. Then after doing this for a month or so and still not seeing change, I would ask to up the dose. I know for me, the difference is dramatic when I up to 2000mg. Take care and keep me updated! Laura
