Yaz low dose birth control for PMDD
Has anybody tried Yaz for PMDD? It came out a little while ago. It is a very low dose birth control pill. Women who were in the clinical trial who had PMDD had less symptoms when they took Yaz as compared to a placebo (sugar pill).
I went to this doctor recently about a rash and somehow we got to talking about my PMDD and he said all his patients with PMDD were on Yaz. He said it might change my life.
I had asked my internist to put me on Yaz back in June and she said she would think about it. She is like this with most things--very cautious.
I am due to start sometime around the 14th of Sept. Then I start taking the Yaz the Sunday after my period starts. I am really kinda freaked about it because I read the leaflet that comes with the pills and it sounds like it could make all my symptoms worse. I am especially worried about headaches. I get severe migraines before and during my period and birth control pills can make headaches worse. Also, since I am 46 the chance of major problems like blood clots are a huge worry. But, this new doctor looked at me and said yes there are risks but you are really suffering with this PMDD. He is soooooooo right.
I am anxious worried and hopeful all at the same time.
Peace
