Hi Ladies.

Sounds like my husband is getting transferred to the Baltimore area.   He will be working at the airport in Baltimore.  I was wondering if anyone lived in this area and could give me some good areas to look for a house.  Good school districts, etc...

Thank you so much!

Karen,

Welcome to Maryland!!!

Jen can probably give you better pointers, but I do know that there are certain neighborhoods in the City of Baltimore that should be avoided (high crime rate, etc), and that the suburbs tend to be better.

Here's some sites to check out:

Note: BWI Airport is south of Baltimore, so not actually in the city, and there is a light rail system the services it (might good for DH's commute).

Karen -

How cool - I have lived in and around Baltimore all my life. I'd love to give any pointers I can!

So much depends upon the kind of place/environment you want to live, whether you're looking to buy or rent, etc. Certainly some of the absolute best schools in the country are within commuting distance of BWI.

Drop me an email through my profile -

Wende

I know - it's crazy - Adam will be 3 next month - I have no idea where the time went.

Jack is SOOOO grown up now - are you experiencing the same stuff with Johan? Jack has so much attitude I can't stand it. I get sighs, huffs, rolling of the eyes. The other day I was told "Mommy - don't tell me - you don't know". I expected this at 12, not 5. Still, I am very excited about Kindergarten in the fall, and I love to watch him really figure things out totally for himself.
