I saw Phantom of the Opera for the 1st time yesterday!! It was wonderful!!! I'm glad I waited to see it on stage instead of seeing the movie (which I haven't seen yet). We got box seats, which had a spectacular view. I guess the first few rows of the orchestra would of had a better "up-close" view, but we will try to get box seats from now on.

If you haven't seen it yet, when you have a chance to, you should go to see it! I'm glad I found out that the Kennedy Center was hosting it (beats trekking to New York).

Next summer, the Lion King is coming-- now if I can just convince DH that that one will be worth seeing too.

So glad you liked it!  Definitely a fun show.  :)

I'm learning that Thomas likes to listen to B'way musicals.  He *hates* being in the car, but I can keep him happy for a bit with the right musical.  Right now, it's Wicked.  He loves it!

My dad went and saw Lion King and thought it was excellent.  So, I would recommend that one!

Heather--
Just lurking around here and wanted to say hi. Saw your Phantom posting...it is indeed such a great performance. I have seen it 2x at the Kennedy Center and it was simply spectacular.

Just also writing for some advice from a veteran mom--- it concerns getting kids to sleep.
Maybe you have words of wisdom??

My 4 yr does fine and always has since she was around 1. It is the other girl (Danielle)(twin) that has been so challenging. I finally had to move her out of the nursery b/c even at age 19 -20 mos I was having 2 babies get up (yes, in the middle of the night.)
I have let her cry it out for 30+ min. Gone in repeatedly to say "you are o.k." We are here etc. The only way I get her to sleep through the night is to have her soooo tired she is exhausted and goes down around 9pm a few times a wk. Other times it is a battle. She never learned to self-soothe (other ones use a paci).

Help!!!!

Austinkitty,

What is her nap schedule like? Maybe she needs less napping during the day? She does need to learn how to self sooth-- maybe now is time for her to get a bed buddy of some kind, a bear, a blanket, Mommy's t-shirt, anything.

Here are some resources that may help (or least offer some insight):

Good luck!

P.S. just saw the movie version-- it was good too, but for different reasons than seeing it in the Theater. If I could justify the expense, I'd go see it again before it leaves the Kennedy Center
