Hi Everyone,
I just called a RE office to make an appointment and they said that they charge an up front fee of $125. They do apply it to the cost of your visit after your insurance has paid their part. What I am wondering is if this is normal practice or should I try and find another office to go to? What do you all think? Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately yes. We had one RE, whose main focus was IVF and we did pay an up front fee. The other RE we saw did not...

Michelle,

I think it can be common practice.  My advice to you would be to research the RE.  The DR's I've seen have been on the state's Top Doctor's list.  It's kinda like a grading card for doctors.  Personally, I didn't have to pay an up front fee, but have heard of others having to.
