I guess I'm just looking for support. I'm terrified. I was raped a month ago. I don't know what to do. A great friend is urging me to go to the hospital, but I'm afraid to go. I don't know what will happen. I'm almost positive that I'm pregnant, and even more terrified that I have some sort of STD or HIV. I odn't know what to do or how to handle this. Please send good thoughts and hugs my way to give me the strength I need. Thanks.

Trixie

Hi  :)

I'm so very sorry about the rape.  And yes, it does need to be reported.  Even if there's little or nothing that can be done now, your complaint will be on file.

We have a great board on STDs:  http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhsexdisease and you  might want to check in with the CLs and members there with your questions about STDs.

dear Trixie,
it sounds like you have a really good friend there (:)
do you have a doctor?
if they are someone you trust go for a visit to make sure you are okay and to confirm if you are pregnant or not
it will give you some peace of mind
...if you are not comfortable going there maybe a rape crisis/sexual assault centre can give you some ideas or resources available in your area that are confidential
I wish I had reported but I don't beat myself up about it anymore
just make sure you are okay for your own health and well-being
the best thing I ever did was admit not only to others but to myself I was
you are not alone and I am sorry you had to go through this
I am thinking about you and wishing you all the best

((((((((((Trixie)))))))))))))))

Please go to planned parenthood! you can get an exam there easily. ask for a sane- sexual assault nurse examiner. they wont make you tell the police. it's your choice.

Thanks everyone for all your help and support. I just got back from the hospital, and feeling better (well, a little). I was humored by the psycho that was high on crack. Yes, that's true. It gave me a giggle, even though it shouldn't. It kept things a little lighter. Thanks all for everything you've done. :-) You are all special people!
