Do you have an interesting Reiki experience you'd like to share with the rest of us? We'd love to hear all about it. :)

I was hoping that someone would start this, but maybe it's a bit like in class when everyone is waiting for someone else to lift their arms with a question or an answer? ;-)

One of the most interesting Reiki experiences has been with my friend V, whom I have only met through the internet. Perhaps it's because we've become such good friends, but the reiki sends really do forge a close connection. She knows when I am reikiing her - she says that she can feel it in her stomach. One time when she was in the hospital and semi-conscious, I felt a pain in my back, just below the shoulder blade. I asked her sister to check whether she wasn't sleeping atop something because it felt more like discomfort than a pain, and sure enough there was a bit of plastic from the IV that had rolled onto her bed.

Reiki helped my SIL post-stroke. I would reiki her just before bed, and when she would wake up in the middle of the night due to muscle cramps. We later found out that what worked best was reiki just before bedtime + guided imagery on a loop on the iPod. This combination allowed all of us a good night's sleep!

Hello all, I'm a newbie to the board, but I wanted to share my first reiki experience. It was a realization really. I've wondered for years now what I'm supposed to do with my life as far as my career is concerned. I want to help people, that's the purpose I kept coming back to. I started massage therapy school back in June and we've learned about all of the modalities over the months, but we had a lady to come in and show us what reiki was like, what it was about and do some hands on. Well, we felt each other's energies and she was telling us about something, now I can't even remember, but I got this overwhelming feeling "This is what I'm supposed to be doing, this is where I'm supposed to be." I didn't feel like it was toward reiki directly, but something in massage therapy (that part I haven't found yet :)). This is how I'm supposed to help people. My eyes started welling up with tears and it was a feeling of relief, of joy that I found my purpose. I truly love and believe in reiki, it's defintely one of my favorite therapies. :)

Welcome to the board, Bluemtnlady!

Wow - what a very powerful experience. It's just so awesome that you know for sure that you are doing exactly what you should be doing. I am sure that when you finish your studies and as you start working, your clients will be so grateful to have you as their therapist.

Are you planning on being attuned to Reiki? Or maybe you are already a reiki practitioner?

I hope to help as many as I'm supposed to. And I haven't really practiced with many people since the first time; one of the girl's that went around and felt energy said that mine felt "cold". Which kind of bothers me, since I'm going to be a conduit of positive energy. I've been working on being more warm and open with people around me, so hopefully that'll help. I wondered if reiki would actually work (a bit skeptical) when we all did it and I wonder if maybe that was what the "cold energy" was. I'm defintely a believer now. :)
