Hi, Molly!

I think I had posted that the nerve conduction test showed that the primary cause of my problem with my hand turned out to be in my neck ... after surgery and physical therapy for the hand.  Grrr.

Tomorrow I go for an MRI (closed) of my neck to find out just what is going on there.  I see my hand surgeon for the results next week and then see a neurosurgeon to discuss options.  NOT surgery, as far as I am concerned!

Hugs to you,

(((((((((((((((( Barb ))))))))))))))))), here's a huge healing hug for you.  It's so frustrating when you think a problem has been solved and it turns out to be something else altogether.  I hope the MRI will help you and your doctor find a solution.  And I hope surgery is not the only option he gives you.  If so, you might go for a second opinion.  Happy Halloween, Barb.  Take good care and keep us posted on how you're doing!

The MRI went fine.  I tried to get an appt with the neurosurgeon that my hand surgeon recommended.  They tell me he is scheduling in February!  However, he will get the report and see if he wants to see me sooner.  I told her a bit of the backstory so hopefully that will encourage him to bring me in sooner.  I'm kind of surprised my surgeon left it up to me to set up my appt.  Usually they arrange the appt and call me.  Oh, well.  We'll see what happens.

Wow, Barb, February is a long time to wait.  I hope you can get in sooner.  Have you tried asking the receptionist to put you on a cancellation list, so that if another patient cancels their appointment, you can hop in his/her place?  Take care, Barb, and let us know if you can get in to see the neurosurgeon sooner!

I see my hand surgeon on Thursday and I am hoping he will request that I be seen sooner.  However, I will definitely ask to be on a cancellation list.
