Hi, All

This is my first time posting on this board...Need advice Please

My boyfriend and I broke up three month ago but I cannot seem to get over him.  I believe part of it is not knowing if he gave me some type of std or worst HIV.  We did have unprotected sex and that really kills me inside.   Now, I am so scare to get myself check .  What if he did gave me a sexual transmitted disease ?  How would I cope ?  I know my life will forever change and to be honest with you all,  I do not know how I would take it.  However, not knowing  is really eating me up inside..

Help

I think it would be best for you to get yourself tested. I know it's hard thinking about what the outcome will be, but if you find out that you do have an STD, the next step would be learning how to control it and dealing with it emotionally. Not knowing is going to hurt you and potential partners in the future. If you find out that you don't, then great! Just remember to take one step at a time and inform yourself, do your research! That's the biggest help with someone with (or without!) an STD. You can always come here with any questions or just to vent. Good luck!

Thank you for your advice. You are correct.. I have an appointment set up for this Thursday to get myself check.  I am so so scare !  It is all my fault I know it.. Why did I let this happen ?  I always been so careful.  I have not had unprotected sex for over 16 years.  This was so stupid of me to do.

You're welcome. Good to hear that you're going to get tested. Just remember we all learn from our mistakes. Good luck. :)
