I read about the reform in the paper I don't know all the details, but it seems that you guys will be moving to the same type of System we had for years in Switzerland : A national health plan, and the obligation to be insured but in the insurance company of your choice.  Not bad.

The key to success in such a system though is that the National Health plan clearly states what is covered and what is not so that private insurances offering lower premiums can't get out of covering certain essentials.
