I was just reading this article about how Allergies Dampen Sex Lives.  It states that 83% of people say that their allergies affect their sex life at least some of the time.

What do you think?  Have you allergies pu thte damper on your sex life?

Absolutely. Seems kind of obvious why...I can't say I'm the picture of attraction while sniveling away, with a red runny nose and puffy eyes, and a Kleenex hanging out one nostril.

Also, taking a Benadryl knocks me out cold. Blessed relief through SLEEP becomes a tradeoff for sexy-time.

Well the only allergy that can seriously affect my sex life is the latex allergy! DH and I don't use them, I take the pill, I'm glad not to have to worry about condoms being a steady relationship really.

Latex free condoms exist in Switzerland, they are pricey which is totally unfair since latex has been proven to be quite a common allergen. In India they don't exist at all, heck even hospitals aren't always stocked up on non-latex gear! Fortunately my allergy is mild enough so that an occasional contact isn't hurtful, but I would really like for people to take this allergy seriously.

I agree Cynthia, it's a bad allergen for many people.  While I'm not allergic to latex, I am allergic to the adhesive used on latex bandages, which is a much less common allergen.... imagine the looks I get at the doctor when I tell them I don't want a bandage after they've drawn blood.  LOL

Yes I can imagine the look LOL

I never really got why they insist on putting a bandage after a blood sample really, each time I had to give one the pucture stopped bleeding by the time they got the bandage unwrapped. Most of the time I just wait until I'm right out of the lab to remove it and trash it because otherwise I will forget it's there and it looks stupid when you wear short sleeves, beside the longer I leave a bandaid on, the redder the mark it will leave. I really use bandaids when I have a wound that is deep enough, in an unlickable place and when it needs to be protected from dust otherwise I give it a miss, sucking on a cut finger is anyway more efficient than the bandage thing :-)
