In the Western world there are Muslim men that, like my father, keep to clash with culture of their adopted country and don't accept that their daughters could be educated in a non-Muslim society. Bahrain is more modren than other countries in the zone but unfortunately i don't live in the capital city but in a small town in the middle of the desert. Also the marriage of my parents was arranged and my mother has accepted my bad fortune. With my husband i'm not on very bad terms but he was a stranger when i married him and i can't say to love him. I hope to find more serenity raising my children, i'm bound to have other one's. When i moved to Bahrain i didm't know Arabic but i've learnt it, then i know Italian and studied English and French, i'd like to learn German. I can surf freely but i prefer to pay attention in any case. My father wanten to let me know Islamic culture that for me means mainly rape and less freedom.

Forgive my ignorance, but do you get to teach and raise your own children?  Is your purpose just to bring them into the world or do you have a hand in molding their values?

There is a website that a couple of the people where I work use that pairs you with someone who speaks the language you want to learn, and you teach them yours.  I can get the link if you are interested.  You have to have a microphone for speaking and probably a high speed internet connection.   It fosters good will and friendships with different cultures.

It seems to me that more people have died over the centuries in the name of one religion or another, than for any other reason.  Seems a real shame...

I'm glad you are here, and look forward to expanding understanding among us.
