When worry consumes you to a point where you know it's just not healthy, what strategies do you use to control it so your mind doesn't continue to spin out of control?

A cup of tea, a good cry and a hot bath.

It all depends.

I am striving to be worry-free but that just isn't realistic but lately I am realizing how much stress that places on me that I just don't want/need.

So sometimes I listen to music, watch a little tv with ds.

Having a good laugh with him helps.

He is worried about me so I try to reassure him I am taking good care of myself.

Worry really doesn't help and so distracting myself or facing what is worrying me definitely helps.

Of course I am a bit of a worry-wart anyways.

Kind of like the squirrel that thought the world was ending and it wasn't.

Mountains out of mole-hills kind of mind-set.

Learning that nothing is bad as it seems to me.

Having a positive attitude and a sense of humour albeit it's "twisted". ;)

I breathe - or I write.  Whichever I happen to remember first, but undoubtedly, one will lead to the other.

Hiking, or any other physical activity, has also proven to be good lead-ins to breathing and writing.  Just being outside and taking in outside air will change my mood.

These can all lead me to a good cry and a nap too!

Since I moved on to a different career, I am much more aware of my worry.  As women, I don't think the worry ever just "disappears."  So we get plenty of opportunities to recognize it and try different ways to manage it.

The spice of life, right?  =)
