What does Thanksgiving mean to you?

How wonderful. It is amazing the number of families that had had sibling's separated. My mother grew up during the Great Depression and due to my grandmother having TB, the children got separated. Most of them were older, but a few were still quite young. The youngest child, a baby at the time, was a brother that my mother wanted to re-connect with. Unfortunately that did not happen before his death. His adoptive parents wanted his whereabouts left unknown even to his siblings. So sad.
I think my most memorable Thanksgivings were as a child too. I remember the men falling asleep on the living room floor in front of the t.v. after dinner. My mother and her only sister would sit and visit over coffee afterwards. It was very relaxing. I used to get so tickled at all of the "snoring" in the living room!!
It has become almost, "Just another day" now, unfortunately. I am trying to recover some of the holiday traditions and create some new ones, but to be honest, I am running into some lack of enthusiasm from many family members.
