Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we'd love to know: what does Thanksgiving mean to you? From grandma's pumpkin pie to sitting down to a big family dinner, what are your favorite Thanksgiving moments? Tell us about your best Thanksgiving memory, a family tradition or that special dish that makes the day complete. If only a picture will do your holiday table justice, post it here and let us see how you celebrate!

Your story may be used in an upcoming iVillage Thanksgiving feature.

I love Thanksgiving!  I always have!  I love the smell of the turkey roasting in the oven, sharing the day with special friends and loved ones, and the meaning behind the day.

One of my favorite memories of Thanksgiving is helping my mom, and before her my grandma, make the stuffing.  Another favorite would be the holidays spent at my aunt & uncle's home with all of my cousins and extended family.  We always had so much fun together!

This Thanksgiving, my family has something extra special to celebrate!  Last spring, I located my mom and her twin's birth siblings and we've been able to reconnect with those who are still living.  3 or 4 of my "new" aunts & uncles are going to come here and celebrate the holiday with us.  I'm really looking forward to meeting some of them for the first time!

How wonderful.  It is amazing the number of families that had had sibling's separated.  My mother grew up during the Great Depression and due to my grandmother having TB, the children got separated.  Most of them were older, but a few were still quite young.  The youngest child, a baby at the time, was a brother that my mother wanted to re-connect with.  Unfortunately that did not happen before his death.  His adoptive parents wanted his whereabouts left unknown even to his siblings.  So sad.

I think my most memorable Thanksgivings were as a child too.  I remember the men falling asleep on the living room floor in front of the t.v. after dinner.  My mother and her only sister would sit and visit over coffee afterwards.  It was very relaxing.  I used to get so tickled at all of the "snoring" in the living room!!

It has become almost, "Just another day" now, unfortunately.  I am trying to recover some of the holiday traditions and create some new ones, but to be honest, I am running into some lack of enthusiasm from many family members.

Amy, that is so great!  What a wonderful gift to your mom and her twin!

My favorite childhood memory of Thanksgiving is at my maternal grandparents' home with my mom and her two sisters plus all their spouses and children gathered around the dining room table.  There were not that many experiences when I got to be with all my cousins at the same time.

Now there is a new Thanksgiving tradition.  We are holding a potluck Thanksgiving dinner here at my building in this retirement community.  Nearly all of our 60 residents will be participating.  This will actually be a few days before Thanksgiving.

The best part will come on Thanksgiving Day when my son will be arriving to visit me!  It has been well over a year since I have seen him.

Oh gosh, I bet you are really excited to see your son!

Thanksgiving is always wonderful when shared with many.  :)
